Questionnaires
Questionnaires for assessment of the knowledge and skills of students and teachers in vocational education and employees in the gastronomy and hospitality sector, which are related to the circular economy, climate change and CO2 emissions that occur during their work have been developed and disseminated to students, teachers and employees in the gastronomy and hospitality sector.
The results of the research have been analysed and will be used to create an educational program in the field of gastronomy, for students and teachers of vocational schools and for participants of adult education programs.

Climate Cookbook project at the Film Food Festival
In the period between 5th and 14th October 2023 the Film Food Festival was held in Zagreb. Our project was represented at the festival with a short video about climate change and climate cookbook.
Food weve workshop
IRMO, 17. October 2023.
On October 17, 2023, IRMO hosted the president of the Center for Prevention of Food Waste – CEPOH dr. sc. Branku Ilaković. Dr. sc. Ilaković held an interesting lecture on waste reduction and waste reduction prevention.

Today we presented our scientific paper „Gastronomy at the Crossroads Towards Climate Neutrality: from Counting Calories to Monitoring CO2 Emissions“ onthe 9th LIMEN Conference on Leadership, Innovation, Management and Economics organised by the University of Technology Graz, Austria.

Our first cooking workshop
Our first cooking workshop, titled “Meet the Meat,” took place on Thursday, 14 March 2024. Led by Suzy Josipović Redžepagić, the workshop aimed to introduce participants to the project “Climate Cookbook.”
During the workshop, the participants gained valuable insights into the connection between meat consumption and environmental sustainability. An educational quiz was conducted to assess their understanding and knowledge on the mentioned topic. Additionally, short educational messages were disseminated to the participants to deepen their understanding of climate-conscious cooking practices, food preparation techniques, and their implications for the environment.
The workshop served as a platform for fostering awareness and appreciation of sustainable cooking practices among participants, paving the way for future workshops aimed at promoting eco-friendly culinary habits.
Second cooking workshop
Our second cooking workshop, titled “Mediteraneo” took place on Thursday, 21 March 2024. Led by Suzy Josipović Redžepagić, the workshop aimed to introduce participants to the project “Climate Cookbook.”
During the workshop, the participants gained valuable insights into the connection between food and environment and how much the use of electricity for heating and cooking food contributes to greenhouse gas emissions as well as the production of packaging for food products and the disposal of food waste. The participants learned how a plant-based diet and reducing the consumption of meat and dairy products can significantly affect the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
An educational quiz was conducted to assess their understanding and knowledge on the mentioned topic. Additionally, short educational messages were disseminated to the participants to deepen their understanding of climate-conscious cooking practices, food preparation techniques, and their implications for the environment.
The workshop served as a platform for fostering awareness and appreciation of sustainable cooking practices among participants, paving the way for future workshops aimed at promoting eco-friendly culinary habits.
We were present at the 17th Crisis Management Days
We presented our paper “Our daily bread and climate change – Students’ awareness of the climate change and their contribution to mitigation through dietary habits“ on the 17th Crisis Management Days organised by the University of Applied Sciences Velika Gorica.

Climate Cookbook project at the Film Food Festival
In its tenth edition, Food Film Festival, in the period between August 29 to September 7 2024, was held in Zagreb. Our project was represented at the festival with a short video about climate change and climate cookbook.
In addition, this year we were part of a Cooking class with famous Croatian chefs:
Duje Pisac, Vedran Stojanović and Dino Bebić.

Sanja Tišma, the director of IRMO, presented the Climate Cookbook at the Slovenia Book Fair in Ljubljana on December 3rd 2024.
Climate Cookbook on TV Celje
Members of the University for Third Age Rogaška Slatina that is a part of Ljudska univerza Rogaška Slatina also took part in promoting and cooperating in the project.
